Provision Lab Inc. Community Service Projects In Monee

Our youth are responsible for the future of our communities and they have shown the potential for a truly revolutionary culture. Provision Lab Inc. and one of it's key programs Love in Action (Action: Love) mobilized 27 Crete-Monee Middle School students to perform community service projects in the small suburb of Monee.

The seniors at Monee’s Golf Vista Retirement community were the beneficiary of various service projects. The students and Provision Lab teamed up to also plant the initial crop of vegetables at the Monee Community Garden which was established last year at the Love In Action: Monee Service Day.

The service day included over 770 hours of community service, over 500 families fed and clothed, and even dental checkups for those who otherwise would not be able to receive them. This year's planning for the second annual Love In Action: Monee Service Day on August 4th is already under way. (Looking to volunteer for that? Click here)

A big thank you to Kelly Dettlaff (Provision Lab Projects Coordinator) who had this to say, "We had an incredible event. These students started this Kindness/Leadership club and wanted to do a service project.  The residents were beyond thrilled on how selfless these kids were.  This project shows how responsible our youth can be working in our community."

Also involved were the teachers at Crete Monee and the Monee Fire Dept, who were able to contribute a water system for those who will maintain the garden in the future.
